Methodology
Everything on Toolz is calculated automatically from market data. This page explains how. None of it is investment advice.
Prices and charts
Prices are refreshed every few seconds to a few minutes, depending on the source. Analysis uses daily candles. If a primary source is unavailable, we switch to a secondary source or show the last known value.
Technical rating
The rating is calculated on the daily chart from 11 oscillators (RSI 14, Stochastic, CCI 20, ADX 14, Awesome Oscillator, Momentum 10, MACD 12/26, Stochastic RSI, Williams %R, Bull Bear Power, Ultimate Oscillator) and from moving averages (SMA and EMA 10, 20, 30, 50, 100 and 200, Ichimoku base line, VWMA 20, Hull MA 9). Each indicator gives a buy (+1), sell (−1) or neutral (0) signal. The averages of both groups are combined into a score from −1 to +1: above 0.5 is strong buy, above 0.1 buy, between −0.1 and 0.1 neutral, down to −0.5 sell and below that strong sell.
Support and resistance
Swing highs and lows (a candle higher or lower than the five candles on each side) from the last 300 daily candles are grouped into zones, with a tolerance based on the Average True Range. Zones that were touched more often rank higher. Pivot points use the standard classic, Fibonacci, Camarilla, Woodie and DeMark formulas based on the previous period’s high, low and close.
Price forecast ranges
Forecast ranges are statistical, not price targets. We measure daily volatility over the last 90 days and the trend with a regression over the last 60 days; the trend is capped so that it cannot dominate. The central value extends this trend, and the ranges show the bands that contain the price with about 68% (±1 standard deviation) and 95% (±2 standard deviations) probability if volatility stays similar. Real prices often leave these bands, especially around news.
Events and alerts
Market events are generated by fixed rules that scan live data every two minutes: large price moves, new all-time or 52-week highs and lows, breakouts through support or resistance, extreme RSI, funding rates, large liquidations, VIX and Fear & Greed extremes, big bond yield moves and high-impact economic releases due within the next hour.
Limits
Data can be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and algorithms know nothing about news, fundamentals or your personal situation. Always check important figures with an official source. See also: Data sources · Risk disclaimer.
