Qu'est-ce qu'une baleine crypto ? Une baleine est un portefeuille qui détient ou déplace une très grande quantité d'une cryptomonnaie. Leurs transferts pouvant faire bouger les prix, les traders les surveillent de près : un gros dépôt sur un exchange peut préparer une vente, tandis que de gros retraits signifient généralement un stockage à long terme.
Comment lire les transferts des baleines Toute grosse transaction n'est pas un échange. Les exchanges déplacent régulièrement des fonds entre leurs propres portefeuilles chauds et froids, et les créations ou destructions d'USDT et d'USDC montrent l'émetteur qui crée ou rachète des stablecoins. Repérez les transferts répétés dans le même sens et comparez-les aux réserves des exchanges sur notre page d'indicateurs on-chain.
Qu'est-ce qui compte comme transfert de baleine ici ? Tout transfert de Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT ou USDC d'au moins 10 millions de dollars. Pour le Bitcoin, la monnaie renvoyée à l'expéditeur n'est pas comptée.
Un gros transfert vers un exchange signifie-t-il une vente ? Pas forcément. Il peut préparer une vente, mais aussi servir de garantie pour des dérivés ou être un mouvement interne entre les portefeuilles de l'exchange.
Que sont les créations et destructions d'USDT et d'USDC ? Une création (mint) émet de nouveaux stablecoins (argent frais entrant dans la crypto), une destruction (burn) les retire lorsqu'ils sont échangés contre des dollars.
